A Japanese wife…is it true?

Dear followers and readers, how are you?  I’m TOSHI, a Japanese woman.

There’s a joke like this:

Heaven is
an American salary,
a Chinese Cook,
a British Home,
and a Japanese Wife.

Is this true?

I would like to share my views and opinions speaking as a Japanese woman.

The beautiful and profound world of “Kawaii”【Beautiful stories from far away From Japan】

【Japanese wife】In the base of Rocky Mountains

I would like to share my views and opinions speaking as a Japanese woman. From my point of view, there are quite a few people around me who have international marriages, and everyone, regardless of their country, has a Japanese wife.

I have traveled to 23 countries so far, and the impression is that Japanese wives are spread across all the corners of the globe.

I saw a Japanese wife in the base of Rocky Mountains. She was married to a rancher, her husband’s ancestors were cowboys, she had a relative who died in a rodeo accident, and she usually played only on the nearby ranch and the small town downtown where everyone knew each other there. She was a good cook and a hard worker. She is loved by her parents-in-law and lives happily.

there. Some people say that the reason why people who want Japanese wives is because they are relatively patient.
When I saw their happy appearance, I also dreamed of becoming a wife myself. However, I thought that when I was doing a homestay while studying English and French.
“It’s true that foreign men are kind to help with housework.”
And the next thing I thought was
“That is, of course, gentle, but if you aren’t kind to your wife, your wife may run away.”

【lowest, worst】121nd out of 156 countries

To be honest, I thought.Anyway, Japanese women are relatively patient because Japanese people are conservative, for better or for worse, and tend to prefer to maintain the status quo. Because they are mostly faithful in their marriages. To be honest, there are still some improvements that could be made in regard to the status of women. In the “The Grobal Gender Gap Report” by WEF , the position of Japanese women was ranked “121nd out of 156 countries”, which was also the lowest among G7 last year (2021).
The word “lowest, worst” may come across as very strong, but it can’t be helped because the statistics report Japan to be the “worst.” in G7. It’s a virtue to be patient, but if women’s status is low and it’s customary to put up with them even if they don’t mean it, then they need to be improved.

However, although I am unmarried, it is a pleasure and an honor to see that married Japanese woman are often reported by their non-Japnese husbands that “my wife is wonderful. Japanese women are great.”
What can I say, please continue to take good care of your wife.

However, I don’t want you to take it too serious, but the male relatives who live with me are hard-working and kind-hearted, but I rarely do housework.

Japanese people take a bath every night, but he doesn’t even put hot water in the bathtub.

I wouldn’t say, “I put the bath salt near the bathtub, so take your time (put it in yourself).”

He doesn’t complain, but if I don’t do it, He doesn’t even add bath salts himself. If I don’t have hot water, just shower.
I sometimes ask
“Why don’t you put hot water in the bathtub by yourself? Even though men do housework, you don’t realize it.”
I protest, but he says
“If you’re tired, you don’t have to.”
Just saying in a gentle voice, it is not a discussion.

However, everyone, especially Japanese men generally work long hours, so I think there is a fact that they can’t even do housework themselves due to a lack of free time.
Japanese men may also be hard-working, serious, disciplined, and good. So are my relatives as well.
I may not have said it well, at the end of the day, we are a peaceful family.
