❚ Tokyo and my destination, and poker in maid uniform
Dear followers and readers, how are you? I’m TOSHI, a Japanese woman.
I’ve had some personal issues lately; the most important person in my family passed away last year. Actually, even though it’s been about a year at this point, being in the house still reminds me of her.
After discussing it with my family, I am considering moving.
She was from the suburbs of Tokyo (Kanagawa Prefecture), I think it makes sense to move to Tokyo.
Right now, I’m going back and forth between my hometown and Tokyo.
Tokyo is a big city. I come from the suburbs of a provincial city, which is also urban, but there are so many different people there.
For the three years after Corona, I spoke in a foreign language with only a few people in my town. I had a personal reason too, but there is a big difference!
When I participated in a certain event in Tokyo, I heard that recently poker has become popular among relatively young people.
You don’t have to spend so much money (*It is illegal to play poker with betting money in Japan), and you can treat it like a social event.
I think Japanese people are not very good at talking and communicating with strangers, but when you play games with them, you can tell a little bit about who they are.
I think that’s what these social situations are for.
After some research, I found out that there are place, a kind of poker bar, where the dealers are beautiful young women in maid uniforms.
I don’t know what the readers will think after hearing this (but in maid uniform…can I ask your opinion? Is it a part of Kawaii culture?), but after a bit of research, that is the place where you can play poker legally; starting at around 3000 yen.
I’m a woman, so it don’t really care what costumes the dealers wear. I don’t want to go to an illegal poker place so I’ll try out this maid one instead.
