Hello, this is TOSHI. I’m a Japanese woman.

My husband and I traveled to Toba in Mie Prefecture. It’s known for its ria coastline and historical naval powers.

We stayed at a ryokan called “Umi no Cho” (Butterfly of the Sea).

The sea around here is truly beautiful, with peninsulas and small islands intricately intertwined, sometimes looking like a maze.

There, I saw a cherry blossom blizzard for the first time in my life. It was a windy and rainy day, but the cherry blossom petals fluttered down, some even blowing upwards from below, and it was so beautiful.

A Maze-like Sea.

A ship slowly approached us through the fog, and somehow, everything was so fantastical that I couldn’t believe it; it seemed like an illusion.

An Exploratory Path.

I’d like to tell you more about this later, but this ryokan has a private beach, and it’s close to Ise Grand Shrine (伊勢神宮) and Toba Aquarium, the only aquarium in Japan with sea otters.
