【Tokyo Subway – My Husband Isn’t Interested in Other Women】Beautiful stories from far away From Japan
2026-04-03 | TOSHI

Hello, this is TOSHI. I’m a Japanese woman.
My husband seems to have absolutely no interest in other women, and I thought, “There are people like this too,” so I wanted to share my experience.
■He is not interested in Geishas

When we went to Kyoto, we stayed at a certain type of inn where you could call in Geishas (Maikos). I wanted them to dance during dinner, so I suggested it. My husband replied,
“It’s too expensive. I’m not interested.”
So, the idea was dropped.
My ex-boyfriend was a salesman who went to Filipino bars to entertain his craftsman clients.
I thought all men were like that, but my husband says it’s too expensive and he’s not interested.
He said, “It’s a waste of money to spend it on women I don’t know. I’d rather spend it on my wife.”
■Tokyo Subway

Recently, I had an experience that really made me realize he’s not interested in other women.
My husband often says he’s so glad we moved from Tokyo to our current city, and one of the reasons is that he hated crowded trains.
He hated being pressed against strangers.
“Even if you sit at the very end of the row, there are always people leaning against you with their backs towards you near the entrance. Especially when an old man’s butt is right in front of your face, it’s unbearable.”

That’s why, when we were dating in Tokyo, even when we went out on dates in places like Ginza, we would always head home before the trains got too crowded.

When rush hour approached, he said,
“I want to protect you from the rush. Let’s go home now,”
seeing my husband’s serious face, I couldn’t refuse.

“Don’t you think ‘Lucky me!’ when a young, pretty woman sits next to you on a crowded train?”
When I asked him that, he replied,
“If it’s a stranger, they might not have washed their hands in the restroom. So being pressed against a stranger on a crowded train is painful.”
I thought, well, if he hates it that much, then there’s nothing I can do.
But I can’t stand infidelity, so I’m really glad I have such a serious and kind husband.
