❙My lovely room is bloody and purple
How are you? I’m great because my room is finally in order!
I’m sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Life has been chaotic, to say the least.

It makes sense if you think about it. I spent my college days in Tokyo(Mejiro and Ikebukuro
in Toshima ward, , but after that, I went back at home at that time. However, I suddenly lost my family and moved to the middle of Tokyo, Chuo Ward (Chuo means central).
In fact, for two years, I moved from a shared house to hotels and had some interesting encounters, but I never knew that not having a permanent residence could be so difficult.
The hardest thing for me these past two years was not being able to relax and watch TV on my own tatami room
I was from a big enough city, but I was from the suburbs, so my parents’ home was a relatively laid-back place and since we live in a car-based society, there were only two buses a day, and it was within walking distance, there were no convenience stores either.
Well, once a convenience store opened in the back of my house, and I was really happy about it, but it closed down within about six months (that’s the kind of place I came from!).
So, what I enjoyed on weekdays was cooking food in the evening, drinking beer, watching TV, and talk with my family.
“This is what makes me happy.”
I often said. It was refreshing for me, but due to the sudden death of my parent, my brother became busy, and my environment changed completely; those little pleasures disappeared for the time being.
Fortunately, I was able to find a new room in the place I had dreamed of since my days as a student, and for the first time in a long time, I was able to sleep on a futon on a tatami mat, and I was able to sleep really well.
However, at home, the electricians came and did repairs and everything, But I had to do everything myself in Tokyo. I bought almost everything online, including the TV, TV stand, curtains, refrigerator, and dishwasher. I had to throw away the packaging and assemble it myself.
This was even the first time I ever have a screwdriverin my life .
You don’t need a chair because you sit on a tatami or zabuton. My desk is foldable so that you can use it in a larger room while saving space.
Seiza is not that painful if you have the correct posture. If your posture gets out of whack, use the stretch poles next to the TV to help you get back on track. That’s all you have to do.
If you don’t have a lot of belongings in the first place, you don’t have to throw them away or maintain them eventually. Minimalism is easy.
In Japan, there are Japanese-style rooms that effectively use red and blue (I love them).
I love purple the most, so I thought I’d make this room a “purple room.” Like Sissi of the Habsburg family!
However, even though the purple curtains I bought online are a nice color, but If you use purple in a Japanese-style room, it will somehow looks like the waiting room at a temple. It’s not very chic.
However, what you need to be careful about is that if you buy or assemble something online again, make sure you don’t end up losing money.
We used to use a knife to open cardboard boxes.
My mother used to open everything for her with a kitchen knife, but she would forget the knife on the box or leave it on the bathtub cover for some reason so it eventually became a funny memory for me.
So, I followed suit and opened all the boxes with a knife, but when I did that, it cut, cut, cut my hand. I got cut in 4 places, and blood splattered out. It hurt so much that I couldn’t help it.
When I was talking to a new acquaintance, he said, “You should just use a boxcutter.”
Of course, there was a TV at the hotels, I ended up watching movies or YouTube. If you are concentrating on a foreign language, it will be difficult to enjoy your food while watching.
When I was absentmindedly watching Japanese TV on the tatami for the first time in a while, I felt like I was at my parents’ home. I got a better sense of taste, and I was able to get some chores done while watching TV.
Oh, that was such a long time.
I thought I had suddenly lost everything, but over the past two years, when things were really tough, I dared to get up early and work hard, and I regained a lot of peace.
Although I haven’t completely calmed down yet, this experience has given me more confidence.
