■We went to Okinawa for our honeymoon

We went to Okinawa (沖縄) for our honeymoon.

Okinawa is Japan’s southernmost island, and was formerly a separate country called “Ryukyu‐koku(琉球国).”

My husband has never been abroad. Since we had such a long vacation time, we talked about going to Hawaii or Taiwan, but he didn’t have a passport, so we decided on Okinawa.

My husband doesn’t dislike foreign countries, but he’s not particularly interested in them, so maybe it was better that we stayed in Japan.

Japanese people enjoy a relaxing bath every night (with bathtub), but that’s not the case in many foreign countries. Apparently, he just can’t get used to it.

Anyway, Okinawa has always been so beautiful and wonderful. I felt relaxed and refreshed.

■The prefecture with the highest happiness level in Japan

Okinawa was world-famous for its long lifespans, and people are still living longer. And its residents have a high happiness index, number one in Japan!!

We stayed in an ocean-view room at Hyatt Regency Seragaki Island Okinawa.

We were able to see the hotel’s private beach right in front of us.

Looking at the view outside the window was amazing.

People on the Japanese mainland generally don’t converse with strangers, but Okinawans are willing to talk.

They’re relaxed and casual, even with strangers. I really liked that.

The folk song live show was really great. Apparently, Okinawa has a thriving performing arts industry. Even today there are many excellent singers in Japan from Okinawa. It must be the tropical temperament.

Some people say that Okinawa’s longevity is due to their excellent diet and traditional cuisine.

For example, pork shabu-shabu (hot pot) was delicious.

It was my first time eating papaya leaves.

The aroma was amazing.

We ate up the whole big hot pot cuisine!!(You can find the name of the restaurant from Japanese version article, just nearby the hotel).

The mozuku seaweed was also delicious. I was happy.

■Jinta, the star of the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium

This is Jinta, the whale shark, who is the star of the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium.

They are breaking the record for the longest whale shark captivity in the world.

It was fun.

■The drive along the coastal road was also great 

The drive along the coastal road was also great .

Okinawa is a car-oriented society, and although there is a short monorail, there are no trains.

I was very satisfied with my trip to Okinawa.
